Alex made his 100th Arsenal appearance yesterday against Borussia Dortmund, a game in which The Gunner’s beat Dortmund 2-0 tonight, seeing them through to the last 16 of the Champions League for the 11th successive season.
Arsenal had to turn it around after a disappointing weekend having lost and home to United. Not only did they turn it, they took the game by force.
Sanogo scored his first senior goal since his arrival from Auxerre just 75 seconds into the game. Right from the start, Arsenal had gone into the game with determination and belief – the sort that had the fans elevated with excitement.
Oxlade-Chamberlain came painfully close to scoring on what was a commemorative performance from the 21 year old, hitting the crossbar from an emphatic strike of the ball.
…Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contribution has not exactly gone unnoticed. He was at his effervescent best once again here and came close to scoring with a fierce drive that arrowed just over the bar from the right of the box.
