Alex’s deflected shot helps Arsenal to 3 points at Newcastle

Arsenal were made to really work for the 3 points away to Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The first half was packed full of chances for Arsenal, but they could not find the back of the net.

It weren’t until the start of the second half that the Gunners were able to mount on the pressure to break the deadlock. Cazorla struck a ball toward goal, which was blocked only to and fall to the legs of Ramsey who then took a chance to find the net, but a fine save kept the Magpies going. The ball was parried to Alex who struck a low ball accross the face of goal, but it was deflected ever so slighty and reached the back of the net.

Arsenal move to 6th place with 7 points.
